Search and Destroy

There is some serious snow hating going on right now, so thought I’d give the snow the loving it deserves. Where better to start that the Burton Collection, injecting some life and colour into the winter blues, the collection has some beautiful/sick/cute/amazing/rad pieces both male and female collections looking strong. On the site there is a really useful (rad) tool ” The Great Outfitter” which lets you cutomize outfits, match up different items to see how your outfit would look when in differnt styles, colours, shapes. There is items for All Season, Mid-Winter and Sub Zero, sets you up for the whole year. If you need to inspiration when creating your look check out the pro riders to see what they/how they are wearing the clothes.

I’ll leave you with the video above some Snow Porn showing Mikey Rencz shreddin it up.

Ladies Monthly

So Ladies Monthly is a girlie skate session that goes down every month across the UK, it’s the creation of Lois Pendlebury and Danielle Manor. It’s a pretty sweet idea, that gets everyone together to skate sick new spots in different cities, pushing the standards every month. My favorite Ladies monthly was the “Skate and bake” where all the girls brought home made cakes, sounds a perfect day of cake eating and skating.

Ladies Monthly encourages everyone to attend, whether you are a pro skater, just want to have a laugh and shred about or even if you have never stood on a board in your life. It is an amazing idea which enourages girls of all ages and capabilities to show off their talent and most importantly have a laugh and skate with other girls who love skating too. Check out their Facebook Page to find out more and get down to the next one. Big up to the Ladies Monthly!

SoulBoy

SoulBoy is finally here! Can’t wait to watch it.

I was an extra in this film, so excited that I got to be part of it. So watch out for me throughout with my white/blonde hair, especially when I’m dancing. With my parents at the heart of the Northern Soul scene in Stoke back in the 70′s, I got them to teach me some dance moves… who knew they could dance like that! With my dad playing  some of his old vinyls. Exciting to see those in the scence are still “Keeping the faith!”

To celebrate the release of Soulboy the film was premiered at King’s Hall in Stoke, which was followed by an all nighter. People travelled from all over the country to watch the film. I can see it becoming a cult classic already!

So, the plot as told to us thus far: 1974. Power cuts, strikes and boot-boy aggro on the terraces. Flares, Chopper bikes and beer at fourteen pence a pint. Joe McCain, 17 and restless, is bored with the flatline tedium of a life that seems like it’s going nowhere. Enter Jane, moving to the beat of a music that Joe’s never heard, a vision of loveliness who opens the door to a whole world of sound, movement and all-nighter dancing at The Wigan Casino – the home of Northern Soul! Swept along on this tide of pulsating dance and lust, Joe finally finds somewhere he belongs and the acceptance and true love he yearns for.

Can’t wait to watch it, the film is being shown at these cinemas.

SoulBoy..which was first named Souled Out is full of energy &  life and has had alot of detication + hard work put into it. So I hope it gets the love it deserves!
