I LIKE THE WAY YOU WORK IT

As if they’re not already smashing it on so many levels, tonight at Urban Outfitters the WORK IT girls successfully launched ‘THE LYRICS SERIES’ – a range of 90′s inspired t-shirts, mugs and sweaters. Here’s what went down.

PAM AW 11 DROP

Aussie label Perks & Mini a.k.a PAM know how to pack a punch. Think ravey prints, graphic tees and acid wash denim. This Autumn the design duo drop a selection of bamboo and cotton mix women’s t-shirts emblazoned with images of hybrid rose-quartz-flowers with made up names. The creamiest of this seasons crop however comes in the form of the Fawn Bambi top. Yes. You heard. Bambi! Need I say more? Available now at Goodhood in-store and online.

ELLESSE POP UP

Yet another brand piggy-backing on the hard work of people who are actually doing something independent on east London’s Redchurch street; super 90′s sportswear brand Ellesse are hosting a coffee-shop-meets-pop-up-boutique. Aside from the offensive graphic design (where they’ve forcibly rotated their logo to mimic the silhouette of a cappuccino cup) I am actually quite excited for the concessions which include vintage vultures Zone7Style and the wowzer WAH Nails. Worth a look in.

STELLA McCARTNEY RESORT 2012

OH MY GOSH. tropical shirt alert. Note the mirror print and frangipani motif. LUSH

Paul Graham at Whitechapel Gallery

This photography exhibition fills about 6 rooms in east Londons Whitechapel Gallery. A retrospective of his vast body of work, Paul Graham’s show is a must for the photo journo buff. His candid account of the 80′s and 90′s in America, Japan and Britain is charming.

SWEDISH HASBEENS X H&M

This is what happens when pricey clogs meet high-street giants. £40 wooden wonders. I have them in tan.

This Sunday, head down to WAH Nails in Dalston to fritter away your cash on some highly sought brands or second hand treasure, all for a good cause. COMME DES GARCONS AW 11

Paris Fashion Week AW 11 saw a inevitably avant garde collection by one of my favorite labels, Comme des Garcons. The styling was both minimal and in excess with deconstructed looks accompanied by boyish brogues ( a signature) and topped off with hair coiffed and set with flecked gold paste. Gaudy silk prints and fabrics both sheer and heavy black featured on asymmetrical and understated silhouettes. I’m going to start cutting my clothes in half and whipping my hair into shape with PVA and glitter. yum

THINGS WE’VE EATEN

This blog, an off-shoot of Adam Tickle’s ‘Things I’ve Seen‘, does exactly what it says on the packet. Each post features an image and (often witty) response to a meal eaten by one of it’s 7 contributors. The idea is basic, and makes perfect sense. Each contributor photographs his meal, consumes it and proceeds to comment on it via the blog. Some meals are slated and others applauded, but mainly it’s a tongue in cheek (and admittedly niche) platform that turns a mundane ritual into an entertaining one. view it HERE

ADIDAS X OXFAM

Check out my new backpack. I Disco’d it up for you below. A little nod to 90′s club culture. Just sayin.
