Threestyle PR SS12 Press Day

Press Day season is sadly almost on it’s way out, but just in the nick of time we got to run along to Threestyle PR‘s one last week. Threestyle look after some proper exciting brands such as Franks, K-Swiss, Keep and Creative Recreation, which were all present and laid out showing off their new SS12 ranges. It was all about attention to detail, with splashes of brilliant colour and pattern. There was alot of extremely fly footwear on show to get me excited for Spring/ Summer next year. Thanks for having us guys!

On The Big Screen | The Rum Diary

Sit me down and tell me to watch a film based on the industry I work in and it’s most likely that I’ll politely decline. Do the same, but tell me it’s based on a novel by Hunter S. Thompson, features handsome guys in suits and is based in an exotic location, and you’ll find me seated in front of a screen until my eyes become the biggest squares you’ve ever seen. Oh and as if I needed any more convincing, that good ol’ pirate liquor, Rum, is featured in the title.

Paul Kemp (Johnny Depp), a freelance journalist, is hired by a shabby Puerto Rican newspaper in the hopes of reviving the publication’s status. Thrown into a workforce of misfits and alcoholics, Kemp finds himself juggling the peril of an abysmal career and the challenge of combating his vices. Despite taking some time for things to warm up, the subtly dark humour and wit lingers throughout Mr Depp’s on-screen performance. The other characters in the story often felt a bit weak, with the exception of Moburg (Giovanni Ribisi) and blonde bombshell, Chenault (Amber Heard) who provide entertaining performances throughout the film.

Not all film-goers will enjoy the tongue-in-cheek wit and abundance of chaos and care-free frolics. Not everyone will like watching that ‘50s lifestyle where women were presented as trophies or playthings (or otherwise expected to fetch a man a sandwich). Others will despise Johnny Depp’s apparent fondness for playing the quirky, odd-ball character with a bad habit. If you nodded your head passionately while reading this final paragraph, The Rum Diary probably isn’t for you – if you ask me, it’s not exactly Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas but it’s still a pretty decent watch.

The Rum Diary is in cinemas across the UK from today.

Keep Your Eyes Peeled For… Immortals

Immortals

Although it’s getting close to the Christmas season – a time when everyone should be jolly and reveling in the festivities – the producers of 300 have decided that it’s the perfect time to unleash Immortals.

The film follows the mythical hero Theseus (Mark Cavill) as he ventures on a quest to rid the nation of the cruel and demented King Hyperion (Mickey Rourke), by unleashing the legendary Titans with the all-powerful Epirus Bow. However, the task isn’t quite so easy and Theseus faces many challenges as he attempts to stop the King and his bloodthirsty army from wreaking destruction across the land.

The film features an all-star cast including Stephen Dorff, Frieda Pinto, Luke Evans and Kellan Lutz, so even if you’re not a fan of action, violence or drama, there will be plenty of eye candy to go round. Not only does cast of Immortals stand out, but the cinematography is one of a kind so will be sure to please the average film-goer, but should also excite the avid movie buff. Don’t believe me? Just take a look at the trailer.

Immortals will be in cinemas across the UK from 11th November.
