The success of Drive, the film that took the movie world by storm, was down in no small part to the soundtrack that accompanied it. Back in June, Invada Records released a vinyl LP version and six months later the interest is as strong as ever.

One of the standout tracks, College (featuring Electric Youth) ‘A Real Hero’ was selected as the main theme to the film by Nicolas Winding Refn (Best Director Cannes Festival 2011). This track has proved its popularity not just on the film, but with nearly 12million views on College’s Youtube channel alone!

With interest in College growing globally, Invada are proud to announce the exclusive release of the debut album, Secret Diary and debut EP Teenage Color on physical formats. Previously available only as digital releases, this will be the first time either have been released on vinyl. They will be available on special-edition coloured vinyl and also together as a double CD.

The man behind the music; David Grellier is a French electronica musician and founder of the musical projects College and his own record label, Valerie. College was greatly influenced by American 80s pop culture, and also as Grellier says “80s soaps and an aesthetic which I particularly like: color, images, silvery films and the sun – images of Los Angeles, Chicago and all other cities that continue to fascinate me.”

Fans of the Drive soundtrack, John Carpenter, Daft Punk, Geoff Barow’s DROKK project and other Analogue-Synth heads need to check these recordings out!
